The "Diatonic Harmonica"
is probably one of the hardest musical instruments to
play using written music because every harmonica is tuned
to a specific key of music that requires a different
arrangement of the notes for each different key of
harmonica. Harmonica tablature is so easy to play that
most harp players prefer it over standard musical
"TAB-SLIDE-GUIDE" is a new, innovative tool for
the ten hole diatonic harmonica that is used to write
harmonica tablature (harp-tab). It's now possible to
write tablature for music in any key, even if you can't
WHY IS THE "HARP-TAB METHOD"
BETTER THAN OTHER HARMONICA SYSTEM BOOKS?
I am not trying to
sell a songbook that is prenumbered for playing
harmonica. This book is designed to teach you how to
apply "HARMONICA TABLATURE" (HARP-TAB) to music
so that you can play from any songbook.
remember that good old songbook Grandpa and Grandma used
to sing from? Now you can play all those songs on your
harmonica. This book will open a whole new world of music
of the harmonica numbering systems, HARP-TAB is easy to
write, easy to understand and play, and easy to read at a
glance. The book also comes with a TAB-SLIDE-GUIDE that is used to
change musical notes to tablature. Included with the book
are blank TAB STRIPS. These TAB-STRIPS
are to be placed in the your songbook for writing
tablature. The numbers one through ten are used to
represent the ten holes of the harmonica.
Start with hole number 1 blow and play from left to right all the way through hole number 10 blow. You will notice that hole number 2 and 3 have bend notes in them these are draw bends (inhale). The bend note in hole number 10 is an over-blow bend (exhale).
TAB-STRIP is the key to the whole HARP-TAB system
concept. It puts the tablature in the songbook so that as
you play the song on your harmonica you can read the
words of the song as well. You can now play the songs
that have a special meaning to you using HARP-TAB. Most
harmonica books do not contain the songs you know and
love. When I first started playing the harmonica I bought
several number system books just because they had two or
three songs in them that I knew. By using HARP-TAB, any
song in any songbook can be played. HARP-TAB will open a
whole new world of music to the beginner and can also be
very useful to the more advanced harmonica player as
harmonica player can play some songs from memory, but in
a performance of several songs, your memory can fail.
When you get up on stage and see all those people it sure
can make you nervous. The last thing you want is for it
to be your turn to play and you realize you've
temporarily forgotten what you were suppose to play. You
need "HARP-TAB" as backup to get you out of
those tight spots. HARP-TAB also provides a method for
writing down the songs, country licks and twelve bar
blues that you come up with. There is no limit to the
different ways to use it.
Tablature works. I have personally used it many many
times while performing. It will help you to have the
confidence you need to play in front of an audience. I
hope you give the Harp-Tab-Method a try, I'm sure you
will enjoy it as much as I have.
